[FST] Worthy || A Twelve Kingdoms FST
focuses on the first novel/first thirteen episodes of the series

[ ZIP ]
I. Tear Drops to Earth by EDISON
[instrumental]
Our story begins with Youko Nakajima, just your ordinary Japanese high school student. She has some freaky nightmares, goes to school, gets frowned upon by her parents, randomly has red hair and tries too hard to please everyone she meets. She's a little bit of a wimp, really.
II. Horses in the City by Nina Gordon
"help me 'cause i'm falling out of grace
i hang my head and hide my face
i don't know what it is
i just feel out of place
like horses in the city"
Youko just doesn't feel that she really belongs in Japan. Why does she have red hair? Why is her life so boring? But this is her home. Clearly it isn't the place, it's her.
III. Being Chased by Mark Mancina
[instrumental]
One day a white haired bishounen comes and messes everything up. Youko's life goes to hell complete with giant birds, talking animals, magical swords and a grumpy
IV. Mad World by Gary Jules
"their tears are filling up their glasses
no expression, no expression
hide my head i want to drown my sorrow
no tomorrow, no tomorrow"
Youko discovers very quickly that this world sucks. Everyone hates her, her face is now completely different and she's all alone. She wants to go home. Or die. Whichever happens first.
V. Going Under by Evanescence
"don't want your hand this time, i'll save myself
maybe i'll wake up for once
not tormented...daily defeated by you
just when i thought i'd reached the bottom"
Youko escapes captivity only to blindly wander into the forest. She's lost, confused, hungry, cold, homesick... and she keeps getting attacked by monsters. Thankfully, she has a handy-dandy hinman who helps her kill the critters with her sword. She's fighting for her life in a way she never imagined. She begins to lose herself. And get stalked by a monkey.
VI. Falling Inside the Black by Skillet
"falling in the black
slipping through the cracks
falling to the depths can i ever go back?
dreaming of the way it used to be
can you hear me?"
Youko feels like she's going crazy. And who knows, maybe she is. She's being followed by a fucking monkey.
VII. Papercut by Linkin Park
"but i know just what it feels like
to have a voice in the back of my head
it's like a face that i hold inside
a face that awakes when i close my eyes
a face watches every time i lie
a face that laughs every time i fall"
The monkey is a bitch. He seems to be reading Youko's thoughts, following her, and voicing every doubt and fear she's ever felt. It makes her paranoid, especially when the monkey is correct and she gets betrayed twice by people she thought she could trust.
VIII. Tsungi Horn by The Track Team
[instrumental]
The silence of the forests and the jungles she is forced to wander through alone is foreboding. The vast wilderness just emphasizes one thing over and over: She's very, very alone.
IX. Missing by Evanescence
"you won't cry for my absence, i know
you forgot me long ago.
am i that unimportant...?
am i so insignificant...?
isn't something missing?
isn't someone missing me?"
Youko begins to see vision of her home in the blade of the sword the mysterious bishounen gave her. What she sees is even more depressing than her situation. Apparently no one gives a shit that she's disappeared. Like this girl hasn't suffered enough.
X. Demons by UO On The Rocks
"well you know you've been deceived?
i find i need to be the demon
a demon cannot be hurt"
After all this betrayal Youko decides the only way to survive is to trust no one. Where ever she is it's a kill or be killed world. No more miss nice girl, bitches.
XI. The House at Swamp Bottom by Joe Hisaishi
[instrumental]
Not trusting people ends up being a dumb idea and Youko nearly dies from starvation on a muddy road. She's found by a walking, talking rat named Rakushun who takes her into his humble home and nurses her back to health. She doesn't trust him, either.
XII. The Dress Looks Nice On You by Sufjan Stevens
"i can see a lot of life in you.
i can see a lot of bright in you.
and i think the dress looks nice on you.
i can see a lot of life in you."
Rakushun is the first kind person Youko has met since she arrived in this world months ago. He seems to see something special in her. She doesn't understand why.
XIII. The Fear You Won't Fall by Sufjan Stevens
"it hasn't felt like this before
it hasn't felt like home before you
and i know it's easy to say but it's harder to feel
this way"
Youko starts warming up to her rat companion. He teachers her about this world and seems nice enough. He even offers to take her to the Kingdom of En, which he does.
XIV. The Hell Song by Sum 41
"part of me wont agree
cause i don't know if its for sure
suddenly, suddenly
i don't feel so insecure
anymore"
In which Youko finally kills that annoying monkey (which turns out to be the scabbard to her sword, of all things) and gains a resolve to stop wallowing in self pity.
XV. No Word by The 12 Girls Band
[instrumental]
Welcome to the Kingdom of En! Unlike where Youko was, they don't hate her here. Hooray!
XVI. The Demon God II - The Lost Mountains by Joe Hisaishi
[instrumental]
Unfortunately Youko is still being assaulted by demons that want to eat her. Thankfully, the King of En is hot. And also handy in a fight.
XVII. Worthy by Bluetech
"let me be
worthy
worthy
in your sigh"
Upon meeting the King of En and his bratty but lovable
XVIII. Duel by BOND
[instrumental]
Youko makes her decision to save Keiki and become queen. Oh snap! Cue epic fighting! ... Well, not really. More like a brief invasion and a rescue. Youko does indeed successfully rescue her bishounen
XIX. Heroine by Sinead O'Conner
"afraid, but you will not run
alone, thy will be done
confessed, but you still feel the shame
bring me into your arms again
heroine"
Youko has transformed from a whiny high school student into a noble heroine quite worthy of being crowned the new Queen of Kei.
XX. Let's See How Far We've Come by Matchbox 20
"i believe the world is burning to the ground
Oh well, i guess, we're gonna find out
let's see how far we've come (oh yeah)
let's see how far we've come"
Youko's world was totally destroyed and in its place a new one rests before her. She is Youko Nakajima, Queen of Kei. She's come a long, long way to get here.
XXI. The Adventure by Angels & Airwaves
"any type of love it will be shown
like every single tree reach for the sky
if your gonna fall I'll let you know
That i will pick you up like you for i"
Youko acknowledges that she couldn't have done this without the help from her newest friends Shouryuu, Enki and Rakushun. But especially Rakushun. With his support alone and his wish to see what kind of kingdom she will build, Youko's ready to carry on this difficult task.
XXII. Tears of Joy by Brian Tyler
[instrumental]
But really, this is only the beginning of Youko's story.
